Photographing my family - Vancouver Family Photographer

This is us. Or rather, this is my spouse feeding our two newborns while our older son had to feed himself. He was a big brother to two small people at the mere age of 1 year and three months, still a baby himself. Becoming a big brother to twins certainly took away a lot of attention from him. There are hardly any pictures of me from the twins' first years. Partly because, as the family photographer, I'm the one behind the lens, but also because I had all these insecurities about my body and felt too tired to want it documented.

This is one of my biggest regrets. Because now I don't care what I looked like back then, it's in my past and part of my history. I'm not in the frame with my kids, and I'd love for them to see me in their midst when they were younger, not just behind the camera. I wish I had the foresight to book a documentary family photographer back then to document my daily routine and how super duper hard it was to parent three babies at once. One of my resolutions for this year is to do just that: get in the frame with my kids, both from my own camera and hire someone to photograph us here in Vancouver. Below is my first selfie attempt of the year, with my daughter being silly and making me laugh.
