Oh, Ottawa! I'm here!

My daughter and I admire the trains on the Prairies. We drove from Vancouver to Ottawa with our three small children this summer to relocate to Canada’s capital.

I am now an Ottawa family photographer.

It’s been a while since my last blog, and it’s been a year of many changes.

My oldest started school, my spouse finished school (to be fair he’s a scientist and got a PhD while having three small children and an overwhelmed spouse at home), and then he got a job. In Ottawa. For those of you unfamiliar with the giant country Canada is, Ottawa is in fact the capital, and it’s just west of Montreal, east of Toronto and north of New York State.

To get to this new home we embarked on a giant road trip. It took us one week to drive from Vancouver to here, and it was an incredible journey through landscapes that changed in a second and then didn’t change for days. It’s a beautiful country.

Now we have another milestone looming, my two youngest start school for the first time in just a week, and for the first time since I became a mom I will have five days in a row to work.

You can expect more blogs, more teaching, more photography, more of everything. I’m bursting at the seams with new things coming, so I really hope you’ll follow along on this adventure.

In the meantime, here’s a slideshow of cross-country Canada.

Did you know I run a newsletter for parents to make better pictures for themselves?

It’s 100% free and a no nonsense newsletter.
